Frequently asked questions

Q.  WHAT CAN WE EXPECT ON YOUR TOUR?

We want you to have a great time and hopefully learn something about Craft Beer while we explore the best breweries and beer Southern California has to offer! We'll provide you with cozy, fun transportation, a knowledgeable local guide and tasters at each of the breweries we visit. Whenever possible we will arrange for a tour of the brewery.

Q. ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS?

You must be 21 years old with VALID I.D. and sign a waiver to take any tour.

Q. CAN WE BRING A COOLER WITH BEER ON THE BUS?

We want all of our guests to have a great time, but a brewery tour is not a bar crawl. Most of the beer at today's breweries is much higher in alcohol content than many people are used to drinking so please take that into consideration. Great fresh beer at the breweries should be the priority, not canned or bottled beer that you can drink anytime. However, if you want to bring some brews along for the ride, you're welcome to do so. On private tours you can bring a cooler or let us know and we'll have one on board for you.

Q. WHAT DOES ALL BEER TASTERS MEAN? WHAT IS A FLIGHT OR PINT* FOR EACH PERSON?

A flight of beers is usually 4 - 4oz tasters of each brewery's core beers for each person. If you prefer a glass of a beer instead of a flight you can generally substitute a pint for the tasters. You get approximately $25 worth of beer for each person for the tour. We go to many different breweries and each has their own policy/procedure for flights. Sometimes they are too busy to pour individual flights for groups so we offer a pint* instead.

*At some breweries a higher ABV may result in a smaller pour. This is at the discretion of the individual breweries.

Q. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?

For weekends or larger groups we recommend booking at least a month in advance.

Q. WHERE DO YOU PICKUP / DROPOFF? CAN WE DO MULTIPLE PICKUPS AND DROPOFFS?

For private tours we pickup/dropoff most anywhere in Los Angeles. For the valley, Long Beach, Orange County, Ventura etc. we may charge an additional pickup fee depending on the destinations. Please contact us for details at info@lacraftbeertours.com.

For public tours we have set pickup and drop off points near metro stops. Those are listed on our website or the event page well in advance.

Q. IS THERE FOOD AT THE BREWERIES?

Some of the breweries serve food. If not some have food trucks and/or menus of nearby restaurants that will deliver to the breweries. You can also take food or snacks into almost all of the breweries. We can help with planning!

Q. CAN WE BRING FOOD WITH US?

Yes, but it's better to take food into the breweries and sit down and eat while enjoying some beer. If you have to eat on our bus we ask that you try not to leave it too messy, if that happens an additional cleanup fee may apply.

Q. CAN WE PLAY OUR OWN MUSIC?

Absolutely! All buses have auxiliary cords for just about every phone. Our guides will also have a suggested playlist for the rides.

Q. HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU TAKE ON A TOUR?

We can accommodate just about any size group! Send us an email to info@lacraftbeertours.com.

Q. IS BEER GOOD FOR YOU?

You be the judge, below is copied from a recent article:

Craft Beer: Stronger than commercial cousins, craft Beers tend to be stronger in alcohol content and have more body and strength. They also pack a health punch full of vitamins and minerals. Craft Beer can contain up to 30% of your daily recommended fiber intake and can help lower your cholesterol.
IPA: Make yours a pint of IPA and you're onto a winner. IPA is one of the healthiest beers around because of what's in the hops. The wonder ingredient is the compound xanthohumol which prevents cataracts and keeps the bad cholesterol (HDL) from oxidizing and forming in your arteries, thus helping to prevent heart disease.
Dark Beer: If your dear old mother swore by a pint of stout, it seems she was on to a good thing. Dark beers contain 2 to 3 times the amount of flavonoids from the roasted barley which can help combat cardiovascular disease and even cancer.

Because, you know, we care!
See you soon!
